As we edge toward a more digital future, many parents are concerned that tablets and mobile devices may encourage an unhealthy dependency. Many responsible companies, who manufacture these devices, are becoming cognizant of ways to assimilate mobile devices into our lives, without promoting a constant need to interact with them. We will reveal how tablets and mobile devices are becoming more childcare-friendly. We will show you how you can utilize them for your child’s preschool learning years, while avoiding some of the issues that are causing concern.

Mobile devices are excellent for a young child

The ideal time to introduce your child to advanced technology and intricate concepts is while he or she is still young. A young child is constantly seeking to learn more, and is open and more adaptable to new concepts and knowledge.

    Natural self-control

It is amazing to observe a preschool child being introduced to a tablet. Introduce your child to a tablet during childcare and observe the reaction. You can always decide later if it is the right or wrong choice for your child. However, offering the opportunity can greatly benefit the advanced intellectual development of your child. The main difference lies in how the technology is used, and the discipline that is applied.

Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Crystal Lake, Illinois is the ideal destination if you want the best early education for your child. We utilize smart technology to ensure your child is more than prepared for our digital world. We also offer an AdvancED™ accredited program focused on optimal brain development. • Crystal Lake Childcare: Ways to help your child learn to walk

The time for learning to walk arrives quickly in your child’s life. It can be both exciting and challenging. As a parent, you certainly want the first steps to be taken, perhaps without falling. The time for learning to walk arrives quickly in your child’s life. It can be both exciting and challenging. As a parent, you certainly want the first steps to be taken, perhaps without falling. However, falling is completely natural, and you can expect a child to fall many times prior to perfecting this skill. Just make sure to provide a safe landing spot to be completely sure that no harm will come to the child.

Aside from providing cushioning and encouragement, however, there are essentially two distinct aspects that you can help with during this early learning process. These are balance and confidence.

    Balance

Balance is a skill that we all develop naturally. We are not inherently born with it. Through exploration, we naturally grasp and eventually master this skill. During this period, you can offer encouragement, by motivating the child to want to sit or stand up to interact with you. The rest will come in time as your child’s core muscles develop, and the child gains more control.

    Confidence

This is certainly an area where you as a parent can get very involved. Confidence is all about motivation, praise, and even reward for a job well done. Begin to make a big deal whenever your child learns something new or shows improvement. Consistent motivation helps to ensure healthy progress.

When it comes to the intricacies of early childhood development, Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Crystal Lake, Illinois is truly the ideal learning facility for any child. We offer an exclusive Brain Waves™ Curriculum that caters to everything a child needs to succeed both in preschool and life. Studies have shown that young children learn and develop best through self-initiated and interactive play. Whether at day care or in the home, your preschooler will promote physical and mental development and learn life skills during play. Here, we discuss the benefits for brain development in preschoolers from self-initiated and interactive play.

Why is play so important for brain development?

The period from birth through the age of five is the most important time in your child's life for brain development. To support this development, your child needs to learn in a variety of ways. Problem solving is considered one of the best ways to support brain development, and during self-initiated or interactive play your child can learn problem-solving skills. Also, during play, your child can develop fine and gross motor skills and support creativity and imagination.

    Encouraging play

Since there are so many benefits to your child’s development from engaging in play, you should encourage your child to play as much as possible. With self-initiated play, the benefits to your child are more internal, while during interactive play, the benefits extend to all of the children involved. Interactive play is one of the most effective ways to teach social skills in young children.

At Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Crystal Lake, Illinois, we know that these lessons are not normally taught in a typical day care or classroom environment. This is why we have developed our Brain Waves™ Exclusive Curriculum, which includes activities specifically designed to stimulate and activate a young child’s brain. Our curriculum provides the perfect mix of interactive play and materials to stimulate development through repetition, and by utilizing all five senses in a fun and engaging way.

Though your child is learning a lot at preschool through play, there are plenty of educational games which can be played at home to extend the learning process. Educational games at home allow your child to learn instead of watching television or playing video games. At Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Crystal Lake, we have been providing accredited preschool services for many years, where we teach educational games that stimulate child brain development. We have compiled a list of educational and fun games for you and your child to enjoy at home.

    Civilization

This is an interesting and highly educational game that you and your child will enjoy. The game teaches your child about decision making, diplomacy, strategy and planning. The object of the game is togrow and develop a civilization and to negotiate and trade with other civilizations. Some activities include building banks, factories, granaries and universities. This game will teach your child about the economy and how the world works. Civilization encourages high level thinking and is a fun challenge. Older school aged children enjoy this game as well, and may be helpful in teaching your preschool child how to play.

    Food count

This game is great for teaching your child how to count. What you will need:

    • Empty one dozen egg carton
    • Marker or pen
    • Small food items (cereal, chocolate chips or raisins)

    How to play:

    1. Ask your child to write the numbers from one through twelve on the individual sections of the egg carton.
    2. Then have your child count out each number using the small food items.
    3. Have him fill the numbered sections with the correct number of items.
    4. As soon as the sections are filled, ask your child to count in reverse order. He or she can eat the items if counted correctly or you can share them all when the game is over.

Language skills should not be underestimated with regards to the early development of your preschool child. Language is fundamental in communication, interpretation, and comprehension. Basic language skills are vital for any child today and children can build upon these skills to interact with peers and adults, and to learn in school. Your child needs to learn how to best communicate through language, which is easier done when very young. In addition, your preschooler is at a life stage that is characterized by an incredible ability to learn new information and develop essential neural synapses, so introducing a second or even third language to your child while he or she is in preschool can only be advantageous.

Studies have shown that a child who understands a second or third language while he or she is young has better comprehension. This is evident not only in language skills but also a variety of other areas as well, such as:

    • Science
    • Technology
    • Mathematics
    • Social development
    • Emotional development

We recommend our preschool program for young aspiring students, mainly because this type of education is not offered at typical day care centers. This AdvancED Accredited program covers a wide range of subjects that emphasize healthy early brain development and optimize your child’s mental potential.

Your child will learn in an engaging, stimulating, state-of-the-art environment at Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Crystal Lake. • Infant child care in Crystal Lake: Learn more about sensory toys for your child

During the first year of your infant’s life, play is all about exploring through touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight. Toys that appeal to different senses help your child to get to know the world, and responding to different stimulation is key to reaching early developmental milestones.

Sight: From about the time that your child is one week old, you will notice that they are attracted to bright and contrasting colors and patterns and to slowly moving objects. A mobile, placed about ten inches above your infant, will grab his attention, help exercise visual perception, and provide ongoing entertainment. It is not recommended that mobiles be installed on infant’s cribs due to safety precautions.

Sound: Infants have fairly well-developed hearing and start to learn to track different sounds fairly quickly. Parents are the best source of this stimulation, since talking to your infant in positive tones and with a constant stream of communication is key to your child’s development. Playing soothing music and giving your baby a rattle or soft squeaking toy are good supplementary sources of stimulation.

Taste: Although your infants dietary needs are fairly simple at this stage, they will still try putting everything they see in their mouth! This is actually another positive source of stimulation for your infant, so be sure to have clean, safe, infant-friendly toys that do not pose a choking hazard on hand for this stage of your child’s life.

Touch: Exploring using this sense teaches your infant to distinguish between soft and hard, and light and heavy. At first, they will prefer soft textures, like plush toys and blankets. Later, your infant will explore many textures and will want to pick up everything. Having infant-friendly teddy bears, plastic toys, rubber ducks and storybooks on hand will give your infant plenty to explore.

Smell: While there are not many smell-oriented toys for infants, the world around them does more than enough to activate this sense. Your infant will learn to recognize your smell from being close to your skin. Exploring the outdoors will give them even more stimulation. A great idea is to incorporate smell into your infant’s bedtime routine, with distinctive, gentle and natural baby soap or even nighttime massage cream. All-natural scents such as lavender are well-known to be soothing to infants and parents alike. This will not just help your infant get used to new smells, it will help them to associate the smell with settling down for the night.

If you are looking for a store that can supply different kinds of high quality infant toys, try Buy Buy Baby. All products are available online for convenience and they stock everything from bedding and nursery décor to toys and bath time accessories, ensuring that your infant gets all the right stimulation.

At Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Crystal Lake, we offer an exclusive infant learning program for children as young as six weeks old. Here, we emphasize sensory play that targets each part of your child’s brain as they develop which helps your child to meet developmental milestones through fun, hugs and plenty of love.
